Our Background
Andrew Marx
Andrew spent the first 25 years of his legal career fighting for justice as a public defender in Siskiyou County. His criminal law experience reached the highest level, including innumerable jury trials involving the highest stakes. The pinnacle of Andrew’s criminal law career came from his victory before the California Supreme Court defending, pro-bono, a client serving a life sentence.
Andrew’s own experience with divorce inspired his decision to shift his focus to a Family Law practice. The transition from criminal into family law was well served by Andrew’s passion for the threads common to both; an interest in people's life stories and courageous advocacy on behalf of his clients. Andrew's extensive courtroom experience and zeal for legal writing are supplemented by his undergraduate degree in finance, which enables his ability to understand and advocate for the equitable division of marital property.
